About the Author
Payal is the product of immigrants from Mumbai, India. Born in Atlanta, GA and raised in Douglasville, GA, she is the oldest first-generation child of three. She attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA and earned her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in sociology. She later returned to Georgia State to pursue her M.Ed/Ed.S in School Psychology, and complete her second bachelor's degree- however life had other plans for her.
Growing up in a small town on the outskirts of Atlanta (about 30 minutes west) afforded Payal very unique opportunities. From being teased relentlessly for being "different," to experiencing microaggressions within her own culture, the lens' that life has offered Payal greatly contributes to the outlook that she has today.
From being a high school educator to working under the "Gold Dome" (aka the Georgia State Capitol) and everything in between, Payal's career has generated very diverse experiences, which only fuel and inform her direction now. She has worked with many different organizations in trying to bring awareness about child wellbeing and hands-free parenting education to life in her community.
It is safe to say there is still much to be expected of this young author. Her daughters (born in 2013) still have a lot of growing up to do, and Payal plans to continue to share their journey. Just like she has since the day they were born. (www.gentleparentingtwins.com)

Growing up, Payal always knew she wanted to work with children. As a child, Payal thought she wanted to be a pediatrician. That later transpired into a dream of being an elementary school teacher. After taking her first psychology class (in high school) she fell in love. She eventually changed her major from early childhood education to psychology when she took her first psych class in college as an elective in 2005.
Payal always wanted to be a mother, but never imagined she would be blessed with twins. While certain aspects of motherhood have been unimaginably hard to bear, Payal's spirit can't be broken, nor will she ever stop speaking her truths.
